04/15/2007 - AZVN ended the season with the 2-3 overtime loss to the #1 seeded Real Barcelona. It was an exciting, high scoring game as expected by the league.
AZVN opened the score in the first half with a goal by Tuan Le. Real Barcelona awarded with an own-goal by AZVN to tie the game at 1-1. While AZVN controlled most of the possessions in the first half, Real Barcelona took good advantage on their rare opportunity to score another goal to take the lead (2-1) right before the half-time break. With 5 minutes left in the game, AZVN
evened up the score at 2-2 with a nice direct free-kick by the star striker Son Le to send the game to two '10-minutes' overtime periods. Real Barcelona locked-up the final score at 3-2 with a fastbreak goal in the first overtime.
Real Barcelona moved on to the Final, where they will face the #2 seeded Real M, who defeated Real Shabaab 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out after their game tied at 1-1 after 110 minutes.
04/01/2007 - AZVN looked strong and determined to show that our dropoff towards the end of the regular season would not affect the playoff performances as we beat Intel Milan 4-2.
AZVN goals were scored by Dylan Huynh, Duy Nguyen (2) and Son Le.
AZVN moved on to the semi-final round, where we will face the number one seeded Real Barcelona, who easily defeated Barzar with the score of 3-0. The semi-final game will be played on Sunday 04/15 at 1:00 PM, at Pecos Park, Phoenix.
