3/24/2007 - Under the sponsorship of But Tre Magazine, AZVN hosted a friendly match with the neighbour Vietnamese soccer club, American SW New Mexico. The game was played at Kiwanis Park, Tempe.
With a much stronger squat, AZVN dominated most of the first half, leading 4-0 at the half-time break.
Team New Mexico didn't give up, and came back stronger in the second half to score three straigth goals to narrow the score to 4-3. With 10 minutes left in the game, AZVN scored the final goal of the match through a penalty kick to lock up the final score at 5-3.
A re-match between the two teams was requested by the New Mexico club right after the game. The re-match game will be played on Sunday, September 02 (Labor Day weekend) in New Mexico. Please contact us at azvnsoccer@azvnsoccer.com if you are interested in sponsporing this re-match.
